Dear Jane Quilt - One More Triangle, TR4 and one More Block, B2

I had hoped to get more Dear Jane blocks finished this month after designating every Thursday as Dear Jane day, but I ended up out doing errands one Thursday and at the cottage for another.  Today was our scheduled Dear Jane day so we sewed separately together and then got together for a zoom chat at the end.  Here are the blocks I made today.

TR4  I paper pieced this triangle.

TR4 closeup.

B2  I pieced this block.  It's not perfect, but I decided it was good enough.

I only need to make three more green blocks and will have the  an 11 x 11 grid done.  Still having fun!

Bonnie Hunter's Sew-In-Place Quiltville Mystery Unity Quilt Along

Step 5 was an easier step.  Instead of doing a full round of blocks, only a strip of flying geese blocks was added to the top and bottom of the quilt to change the shape from square to rectangular.  Here's the first strip of flying geese heading right on the top of the quilt.

And the second strip heading left on the bottom.  I was very pleased with how well my points turned out.

The next instructions come out on Monday.  Last Monday's instructions were to make half square triangles towards next Monday's step which I haven't had time to work on yet, but there is still tomorrow.

Dear Jane 117 Blocks and 6 Triangles

I worked on Dear Jane this afternoon and got four more blocks made.

C2  I paper pieced this block.

C12  I strip pieced this block.

K2  I strip pieced this block.  I made the checkers a little larger to avoid having to put a black border on it.

K2 closeup.

K12  I made two flying geese and joined them with a strip and then made it into a square in a square block.

K12 closeup.

Here are what 117 blocks and 6 triangles look like together.

I only have to make four more blocks and then there will only be one more full ring of blocks to make and the centre will be complete!  48 more blocks to go and still having fun!

B & C's Wedding Quilt, Chic Kisses, First Border Row

Today I sewed the first border row of blocks to the quilt.  The two blocks on the right show how the corner will look, but aren't attached yet.  Just ignore the project showing out from under the edges on the design wall.

I will sew a dark grey strip all around the quilt edges which will join the scallops and make it look more like a dark frame.  Happy with the progress!

Bonnie Hunter's Sew-In-Place Quiltville Mystery Unity Quilt Along, Step 4

I put a push on yesterday and today in order to get step 4 done.  Step 5 instructions came out last Monday and Step 6 will be out next Monday, so I don't want to get too far behind.  Not that it's a race or anything.  Here is one side done with Step 5 spinning stars.

Two sides.

Three sides.

Four sides all completed.

I might even be able to start step 6 tomorrow before step 7 comes out on Monday.  There are some more "face coverings" to make though.....

Dear Jane TR 10

Yesterday was supposed to be our Dear Jane sew together, but with social distancing we sewed separately and then got together for a half hour video.  I only managed to get one triangle block done.  I paper pieced it.

And here's the closeup.

I hope to get a few more blocks sewn this month.  I think I will declare every Thursday to be a Dear Jane sewing day.
